Mow'd
MOWER AGREEMENT · VERSION 2026-09-18-3
Mower service and payment agreement
These are draft terms for the local Mow'd prototype. The operator must add its legal name, contact details, payment timing, insurance requirements, screening policy, and a New York worker-classification review before a public launch. These terms do not determine a worker's legal classification.
By creating a mower account, you provide a home address and profile photo. Your home address remains private, while your name, photo, ratings, and reviews are visible to customers booking in your service ZIP codes. You can see customer profile photos and reviews on available jobs in your service area. You may enable browser notifications separately on each device for new requests in your service ZIP codes. You can disable notifications in your account or browser settings. Notification delivery depends on the browser, device, and push service; the local prototype cannot guarantee delivery. After a completed job, you and the customer may each post one rating and optional review. By creating a mower account, you agree to these terms. Mow'd displays customer requests that you may choose to accept, subject to availability. Accept only jobs you can perform safely and on time.
1. Account and eligibility
You must be at least 18, provide accurate account information, and use the account only for your own authorized work. Follow applicable laws and obtain any licenses, registrations, insurance, and equipment required for your work. The operator must decide and disclose any specific onboarding requirements before public launch.
2. Accepting and performing work
Review the address, date, time window, estimated lawn size, price, and notes before accepting. Public map data may miss paved or otherwise unmowable areas. Once accepted, make a good-faith effort to coordinate with the customer and perform the agreed mowing scope with reasonable care. Respect property, gates, pets, and neighbors. Do not enter buildings or perform work outside the agreed scope without permission. Report unsafe conditions, access problems, delays, and damage promptly to the operator and customer.
3. Commission, processing fees, and estimated earnings
For each job accepted under this agreement, Mow’d’s commission is 10% of the underlying mowing and selected extras service amount, rounded to the nearest cent. You receive the remaining service amount, plus any included processing allowance shown on the job, minus Stripe’s actual processing fees. Customer prices stay unchanged. The included allowance is credited to you, not retained as an additional Mow’d fee. It may be more or less than the processing cost.
The planned payment model is Stripe Connect with Stripe setting and collecting payment-processing fees directly from your connected account. Before receiving live payments, you must complete Stripe onboarding, provide accurate identity and payout details, and accept applicable Stripe terms. Mow’d collects its commission as an application fee. Stripe processes the customer payment on your connected account.
Before accepting a job, review the mowing and extras amount, included allowance, Mow’d commission, estimated processing deduction, and estimated take-home. The current estimate assumes one successful US domestic-card charge at 2.9% of the customer total plus $0.30, rounded to the nearest cent. This is an estimate, not a guaranteed payout or a fixed Stripe rate. Your actual Stripe pricing, payment method, international-card or currency-conversion charges, and any applicable additional Stripe fees may differ. Stripe’s actual transaction record will determine the final processing deduction when payments are enabled.
Example: a $35 mowing service includes a $1.40 allowance in the $36.40 customer price. Mow’d’s commission is $3.50 and estimated Stripe processing is $1.36, leaving an estimated $31.54 for you. Selected extras increase the service amount and processing estimate. Weekly jobs use their stored discounted service amount; existing customer booking and seasonal prices remain unchanged.
The acceptance checkbox applies to this agreement and the displayed breakdown. Mow’d saves the agreement version, acceptance time, and estimated amounts for that job. Jobs already accepted under earlier terms retain their original stated share; this agreement does not retroactively deduct processing from them. A reopened job requires a new acceptance under the terms shown at that time.
Selected extras and their scope appear before acceptance. Existing seasonal bookings retain their booked bundle price and scope. Mow’d takes no commission on voluntary tips. If tipping is introduced, any processing cost associated with a tip must be disclosed; tips are not included in the current job estimate.
Acceptance alone does not mean money has been collected or earned. The current prototype records job completion with a photo, but does not process payments or issue payouts. When live payments launch, bank availability will depend on Stripe’s settlement and payout schedule, account verification, and any holds. No instant or guaranteed payout date is promised here.
Direct-charge refunds, chargebacks, and associated Stripe fees can reduce your connected-account balance under Stripe’s applicable terms. Mow’d must publish the operational cancellation, refund, commission-refund, dispute, and payout policies before live payments begin. Local administrator invoice edits do not currently charge or refund a customer or change a saved mower acceptance estimate.
Reference: Stripe pricing and Stripe Connect direct charges.
4. Schedule, weather, and cancellations
Customers select preferred time windows; weather and conditions can affect performance. Contact the customer and operator promptly if you cannot attend, cannot safely mow, or discover that the posted lawn area or scope is materially wrong. Do not demand an undisclosed extra fee. The operator must publish a production cancellation, rescheduling, dispute, and payout policy before payment-enabled service begins.
5. Equipment and safe work
Use suitable, maintained equipment and safe practices. Follow applicable safety rules, local noise limits, disposal rules, and property instructions. Stop work when conditions present an unreasonable risk. Do not share customer addresses, gate codes, or personal details outside what is needed to complete the job.
6. Platform conduct and account access
Do not impersonate others, falsify job details, misuse customer information, or interfere with the platform. Mow'd may restrict access for suspected fraud, unsafe conduct, or serious violation of these terms, subject to applicable law. A mechanism for reviewing disputes should be established before launch.
7. Data and maps
To mark a job done, upload a photo of the finished lawn. The photo is stored locally with that job and is viewable by its customer, the assigned mower, and Mow’d administrators. Avoid photographing people, license plates, or private information. The prototype stores your name, email, account password hash, and accepted job information locally. Job addresses are provided to let you evaluate and perform work. Map providers may receive map location data when you use the map. A separate privacy notice and operational security process are needed before public launch.
8. Changes and applicable rights
Mow'd may update these terms and the rates for future jobs. Changes do not retroactively alter the displayed share for a job already accepted. Nothing here waives rights or obligations that cannot legally be waived, including any rights arising from the actual working relationship under New York law. New York law governs to the extent permitted by law.
