Mow'd
CUSTOMER TERMS · VERSION 2026-09-19-4
Terms for customers requesting lawn mowing
These are draft terms for the local Mow'd prototype. The operator must add its legal name, contact details, payment and refund process, and obtain New York legal review before a public launch.
By creating a customer account, you agree to these terms. Mow'd provides a service that lets you submit mowing requests for mowers to review and accept. A request does not guarantee that a mower will accept or complete the work.
1. Account and property
You must be at least 18, provide accurate account and service address information, and have permission to request work at the property. Keep your sign-in details private. Your saved yard and booking information are stored on the local computer running this prototype.
2. Lawn area and scope
The automatic property estimate uses public parcel area minus mapped buildings and, where available in Erie County, classified impervious surfaces such as driveways and sidewalks. It is approximate and may still include unmapped pavement, gardens, trees, or other unmowable areas. Check the aerial image and do not submit a request if the estimate is unsuitable. Tell the mower about gates, pets, hazards, obstacles, and access instructions. Standard service covers mowing the grass area described in your request; extra work requires a separate agreement.
3. Price, extras, and tips
The displayed one-time mowing price is $36.40 for each started 0.25 acre of lawn, unless a different current price is displayed before booking. This is the full posted mowing price for all payment methods and includes an allowance for payment processing; no additional processing line is added at checkout. Optional weed whacking, sidewalk edging, lawn striping, blowing hard surfaces, and bagging are charged at their displayed per-visit flat prices when selected. The current all-in bundle combines all five extras for $50 per visit, saving $5 against their individual prices. Existing accepted plans keep their recorded add-ons, price, and scope for that season. The bundle cannot be combined with individual extras. Bagged clippings are left at the property; disposal is not included. Striping depends on lawn conditions and suitable equipment. The quote shown when you submit is the proposed total for that cut. In a dispute, an administrator may record a reasoned invoice adjustment and resolution; your account will show the updated proposed amount. This local preview cannot issue a charge or refund. For newly accepted mower jobs, Mow'd receives 10% of the underlying mowing and extras service price. The mower receives the remaining service share plus the included processing allowance, minus actual Stripe processing fees. Previously accepted mower jobs retain their original terms. Tips are voluntary; Mow'd takes no commission on tips, and any processing costs will be disclosed when tipping is supported. This local prototype does not collect charges or tips.
4. Requests, changes, and cancellations
You choose a preferred date and time window. Availability, weather, lawn conditions, and safe access may require a change. A request is posted for mowers and becomes assigned only after one accepts it. The prototype does not yet offer self-service cancellation of one-time jobs or an automated refund process. Contact the operator directly to request a change or cancellation; the operator must publish a contact method and any future fees before taking payment.
5. Weekly seasonal plans
For Buffalo area properties, a weekly plan creates one request per week during the displayed May 15 through October 15 season. The underlying mowing service portion receives 5% off the one-time price accepted when you enroll, and the included processing amount is recalculated on that discounted portion. Selected extras are charged at their displayed full per-visit prices. The combined per-cut rate stays fixed for the accepted season. The plan ends after the season and does not renew automatically. To continue next year, you must review and accept the next season's displayed rate and terms, which may increase. You may cancel future weekly requests in your account. A weekly request still depends on mower acceptance and suitable conditions.
6. Property access and safety
Provide safe access and disclose known hazards, including hidden objects, steep terrain, irrigation heads, and animals. A mower may decline or stop unsafe work. You should raise service or property damage concerns promptly with the operator and preserve relevant photos or details.
7. Data and third-party maps
After a mower marks a job done, a photo of the finished lawn may be stored with that job and shown to you, the assigned mower, and Mow’d administrators. The prototype stores your name, email, home address, profile photo, saved addresses, yard sizes, job details, reviews, and account credentials as password hashes locally. Your home address is private; a service address is shown to mowers who can accept that job. Your profile photo and reviews are shown to mowers viewing your open jobs. You may enable browser notifications separately on each device. If enabled, Mow’d may notify that browser when you request a mow and when a mower accepts. You can disable notifications in your account or browser settings. Notification delivery depends on the browser, device, and push service; the local prototype cannot guarantee delivery. After a cut is completed, you and the mower may each post one rating and optional review; mower profiles and their reviews are shown to customers booking in their service ZIP codes. Address lookup and map tiles may send an address or map location to NYS Geospatial Services, OpenStreetMap-related providers, or other displayed map providers. Weather checks send the map pin coordinates and selected date to Open-Meteo; they do not send the street address. A separate privacy notice and operational security process are needed before public launch.
8. Changes and applicable rights
Mow'd may update these terms for future use and will show a new version for acceptance when required. Changes to future base rates do not change an already accepted seasonal per-cut rate. Nothing in these terms removes rights that cannot legally be waived under New York law. New York law governs to the extent permitted by law.
